Welcome
WIRA stands for Women in Remote Areas and as the name suggests, its aim is to connect Christian women who live in rural and remote areas around Moree, New South Wales, to the gospel in ways they may not normally have access to.
WIRA is run by CWCI Australia, a Bible-based, interdenominational, faith ministry, by women to women. It stands for Christian Women Communicating International.
Today CWCI holds local events in city and country areas to offer encouragement, inspiration and Bible teaching. Know Your Bible studies are used by women meeting in small groups across Australia or studying by correspondence. CWCI also sends teams on Safaris to travel into rural, remote and isolated areas of Australia sharing the love of Jesus Christ and his teachings.
The name WIRA came about after God placed it on the hearts of a group of Moree Christian women. The WIRA conference is non denominational and we hope it will demonstrate unity amongst all the churches in Moree and surrounding towns. We are so excited to be running this conference again! We first held WIRA in 2018 and it was a huge success. WIRA Conference was held in 2021 and 2023, and we are grateful for many local women being able to come together to learn and be encouraged!
